CREATIVITY AND THE BEST STYLISTS

Karla grew up in country NSW and started hairdressing at just 14, having had a passion for styling hair since growing up with 2 younger sisters & a brother on a farm. And growing up in a creative family of cook's, cake decorators, dressmakers & interior designers meant Karla's creative flair came naturally. Naturally she moved to Sydney.

Her ambitious nature in addition to hairdressing is sailing, having first fallen in love with the high seas on a tallship, aged 21, her love affair with the figureheads that adorn the bow of a vessel also started.

So after running a very successful salon on Daydream Island for 4 years, Karla decided it was time to sail around the world with her partner Ross a Private Yacht Captain.

It was during these years alongside Ross on the Super yachts of the worlds rich & famous that Karla perfected her styling and cutting techniques on some of the world's rich and most beautiful woman. She has also been working with Australia's best actor's and actresses since she was 19 Australia wide.

"It was an amazing time", she says. Some of these women were literally wearing million's of dollars worth of jewellery and there i was styling there hair to go to the Monaco Grand Prix, Cannes Film Festival and even to Mar a Lago for a New Year's Eve Wedding.

After 10 year's sailing around the world, Karla has arrived back in the Whitsundays for the last time. Her new salon is now her way of expressing her free spirit-by creating the cut and colour her clients have always wanted and giving them the freedom to be the best they can be. She also expresses herself in the design of the salon, which is a light and airy space looking straight out to sea, stuffed with trinkets gleaned from her adventures around the world. And of course there's her figurehead, looming large in the middle of the salon purchased from a treasure antique shop in the West Indies.
